You might want to configure or change your backup settings for a variety of reasons. You may have acquired a new disk drive that you want to use for backups. You may decide that a different schedule is more convenient than the one you chose. You may decide to add specific files or folders to your backup.

Norton Secure Cloud Storage is available only on Windows.

Configure backup settings

  1. Open your Norton device security product.

    If you see the My Norton window, next to Device Security, click Open.

  2. Click Settings.

  3. In the Settings window, click Backup Settings.

  4. In the Backup Settings window, next to Manage Backup, click Configure.

  5. In the Backup Settings window, on the What tab, under Sources, check the drives or My Documents from where you want to back up files or folders.

  6. Under File Types, select the file categories that you want to back up.

    If you do not want to backup any particular category, uncheck it. To add additional files or folders, click Add or exclude files and folders, and then click Include File or Include Folder to select the files or folders.

  7. To change your backup destination, on the Where tab, select the new destination.

  8. To change your backup schedule, on the When tab, select your schedule from the list. Depending on your schedule, select Start Time, Day, or Day of the Month.

    Schedule is set to Automatic by default.

  9. Click Save Settings, and then click Close.

  10. Click Close.
